How much smaller will my images get?
Photos straight from a phone or camera usually shrink by 60-90% with no visible change at 75% quality. Images that are already compressed shrink less; if a result would be bigger, the original is kept.
What does Same format do to PNGs?
PNGs are reduced to a colour palette, which makes screenshots and graphics much smaller with little visible change, while keeping transparency.
How does the target size work?
The tool lowers quality step by step until each image fits, and if that's not enough, reduces its dimensions. It tells you if an image can't reach the target.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The tool runs as code in your browser tab and processes the file on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, and the site's security policy blocks the page from sending data to any other website. You can check: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab while the tool runs, and you'll see no upload.
