PDF Toolkit

Privacy policy

Last updated October 10, 2026

Short version: your files are processed in your browser and never uploaded to us or anyone else. We don't use cookies, and we don't have accounts.

Your files

Every tool on PDF Toolkit runs as code inside your browser tab. When you choose a file, it is read and processed on your own device. It is not sent to our servers, because we don't have servers that could receive it: the site is a set of static files.

The site's Content Security Policy tells your browser to block the page from sending data to any other website. You can check this yourself. How it works explains how.

Files stay in your tab's memory while you work and are discarded when you close or reload the page. Nothing is saved to your device unless you click Download.

AI Summarize PDF

AI Summarize PDF uses the AI model built into Google Chrome, which runs on your device. Your document's text is not sent to us or to any AI provider. Chrome downloads the model from Google the first time; that download contains nothing about your document.

Background Remover's AI model

The first time you use Background Remover, your browser downloads its AI model (about 42 MB) from Hugging Face, which hosts it. That request is for the model only: it contains nothing about your photo, and Hugging Face sees it like any download (your IP address and browser). The model is then saved in your browser, and your photo is processed on your device.

What our hosting provider sees

Like any website, the company that hosts these files (Cloudflare) receives standard request information when your browser loads a page: your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. This is used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. It never includes your files.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without tracking you across sites. It never sees file contents.

Cookies and local storage

We don't set cookies. Some tools may remember your settings (like a chosen quality level) in your browser's local storage; that data stays on your device.

Advertising

The site may show ads in the future to stay free. Ads would never appear inside tool workspaces and would never have access to your files. Before any ads appear, this policy will be updated to name the ad provider and explain what it collects.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes, such as adding an ad provider, will be described here before they take effect.
