Questions

How does it find the columns?

It looks at where text sits horizontally on each page. Text that lines up across several rows forms a column, which works for left-aligned, right-aligned and centred columns. It works well for bank statements, invoices and simple reports.

Will it work on scanned statements?

No. Scans have no text layer to read, and OCR isn't supported.

Will Excel open the CSV with the right characters?

Yes. The file is saved as UTF-8 with a marker that tells Excel so, so accented and non-Latin characters display correctly.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs as code in your browser tab and processes the file on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, and the site's security policy blocks the page from sending data to any other website. You can check: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab while the tool runs, and you'll see no upload.
